Tropical Beauty for Bridesmaids

Submitted by view on May 2, 2017

While no dutiful bridesmaid wants to outshine the bride on her big day, you’re still going to want to look your best – especially if you travel all the way to Thailand to share her special moment.

With cameras snapping left, right and centre throughout the wedding celebration, if you’re a bridesmaid, you want to be confident that you’re looking great.

In the tropical climates, the heat and humidity can be a challenge, but if you take the right steps in your beauty regime on the morning of the wedding, you’ll stay your gorgeous self all day.

From getting enough beauty sleep to packing all the essentials in your wedding day survival kit, there’s plenty you can do to be a beautiful bridesmaid.

Below is a selection of top tips.

Just Relax

From the moment you get out of bed, until you finally hit the sack in the small hours, if you’re a bridesmaid, you can guarantee to be busy throughout the day. That’s why it’s important to make the most of your rest time and stay in bed for as long as possible. If you’re staying in one of Thailand’s finest private villas, why not have the villa staff bring breakfast in bed for you and your girlfriends so that you can all enjoy a chilled start to the day? After all, the more rest you get in the morning, the better you’ll fare for the rest of the day. Breakfast in bed could also be a nice surprise for the bride herself.

Get Moving

Once you’ve dragged yourself up and out of your plush king size bed, it’s a good idea to take a little exercise if you have time. The extra endorphins will provide an extra kick of energy, as well as giving you a post-workout glow that’s going to make you shine that bit brighter throughout the day. If you’re staying in one of Thailand’s beachside villas, a morning run along the shore could be the perfect workout. If that sounds like a little too much, head down to your villa’s private gym for some yoga or even to lift a few weights.

With your workout done, it’s time to refresh with a long shower or bath. After all, nourishing your skin with a range of fragrant lotions and potions is the foundation to any good beauty regime. Many of Thailand’s villas feature powerful rainfall showers – perfect if you want to enjoy a luxurious, spa-like experience. After your soak, lather plenty of moisturiser on your face and body. Not only will this leave your skin smelling wonderful, it will ensure you glow for the rest of the day.

Nutrient Top-Up

When it comes to beauty regimes, in warm climates like Thailand, it’s vital to ensure your body remains hydrated throughout the day, without plenty of water your skin will become parched and may start looking dull. Eating nutritious foods is also important if you want to look your best. If you know you’re going to be busy dashing around and won’t have time for a proper meal, get the villa staff to lay out a selection of healthy snacks for you and the other bridesmaids to nibble on when you get a chance. Whether you’re in the mood for raw Vietnamese spring rolls or a colourful Thai fruit plate, the kitchen will be able to match your healthy appetite.

Wedding Beauty Bag

Before you head out into the sun to greet guests as they arrive at the wedding villa, ensure that you’ve packed a beauty kit that will stay with you for the rest of the day. This should always include tissues, of course, in case you get a little teary when the bride and groom are saying their vows. You could also add a small tin of solid perfume to keep you smelling wonderful throughout the day, and you’re always going to need lip-gloss or lipstick and powder for touch ups as you help out and party on.
